HHCI Awarded $1.2M in Hazardous Material Canopy Projects for SCE
Riverside, CA – March 25, 2014 – Southern California Edison has awarded Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) 3 Hazardous Material Canopy Projects. Project locations will include 29 Palms, Torrance, and Palm Springs. The project scopes will include: selective site demolition; cast-in-place concrete; structural steel framing; steel decking; epoxy coatings; electrical work; grading; trenching and backfilling; excavation and compaction; pavement repair; site concrete work; pavement markings; chain link fencing and gates; and site water distribution systems.
HHCI is proud to be a key partner to Southern California Edison in support of their code compliant facilities and safe working environment.

AGC’s Keep San Diego Warm Coat Drive encouraged individuals and organizations to clean out their closets and donate their lightly used jackets and coats to those less fortunate during these cold winter months. The items were provided to St. Vincent De Paul Village, Southern California’s largest residential homeless services provider.
Holy Helping Hands, founded by Rita Hall, is a Los Angeles-based organization dedicated to helping all those in need. Their programs range from educational assistance and youth scholarships to substance abuse aid and services to veterans. Their H.O.P.E’s Closet Program assists low-income and abused women become independent by providing them the tools necessary, specifically women’s professional attire, to rejoin the workforce and empower themselves.
As a business leader and large employer, HHCI was selected to contribute to Rep. Takano’s semi-annual economic report and to provide input on business and job growth legislation. Congressman Takano met with HHCI Founder, Hal Hays, HHCI President and CEO, Kirby Hays, and HHCI VP of Marketing & Corporate Development, Elizabeth Cabral.
Established in 2006 in honor of HHCI’s founder’s father, Mr. Wayne B. Hays, the scholarship program has proudly contributed to career development and higher educational goals of 22 HHCI team members and family members. The 2013 Wayne B. Hays Scholarship awardees include the following deserving individuals:
HHCI’s excavation team is currently excavating solid rock to form the foundation for the river basin. Once excavated, the rock is compacted, processed, and broken into a finer material which will form the levee and function as a large surge tank for storm water.
Niños Latinos Unidos is a private, nonprofit organization which trains foster parents to mentor and raise Latino foster children in an environmental where they can culturally and intellectually thrive.
