Hal Hays Construction, Inc. Donates to Bridge Street Elementary Technology Lab Initiative

Riverside, CA – December 04, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) proudly contributed to Bridge Street Elementary School’s Technology Lab initiative by donating 8 MAC computer batteries.

Bridge Street Elementary School was unable to proceed with the Technology Lab Initiative due to lack of funding and federal budget cuts. However, with the help of HHCI and other sponsors, Bridge Street Elementary School can now begin to move forward on this worthwhile program.

Bridge Street Elementary students were thrilled by the donation and gathered to preset HHCI with a thank you letter and group photo to commemorate the donation.

HHCI is proud of its affiliation with Bridge Street Elementary as part of its STEM program sponsorship.

Hal Hays Construction, Inc. Awarded STAR Safety Award for Building Energy Improvements at Travis AFB

Riverside, CA – December 03, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) completed the design and construction of numerous energy efficiency building improvements at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA. Also, the project earned a STAR Safety Award for exceptional safety performance.

The $1M project included: demolition; excavation; environmental impact analysis program; utility and mechanical systems; shoring; trenching; concrete; and electrical. The project supports the Department of Defense’s goal for energy conservation across all its facilities and infrastructure.

For HHCI’s safety achievements, a Naval Facilities Engineering Command representative commented: “Your Company has shown commitment and has met the high standards of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest and the Travis AFB Resident Officer in Charge of Construction for safety on the jobsite.”

Hal Hays Construction, Inc. Awarded $6.2M Site Prep & Demo Project for East County Detention Center

Riverside, CA – November 14, 2013 – The County of Riverside awarded Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) a Site Prep and Demo Project for the East County Detention Center in Riverside, CA. The $6.2M project will include demolition; earthwork; site concrete work; masonry; and structural steel installation. Additional work scope includes site utilities; HVAC; carpentry; and site finishes.

HHCI’s VA Hospital Renovation Project Earns Outstanding Performance Rating

Riverside, CA – October 23, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) earned an outstanding project evaluation from the Department of the Army for completion of the $931K “Renovate Halls and Walls” project at the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Hospital, Loma Linda, CA.

The project’s scope included: interior demolition; metal framing; thermal and moisture protection upgrades; MEP system upgrades; fire suppression system upgrades; access doors and frames; hospital grade tile flooring; and painting. HHCI completed all work in the fully occupied and operational hospital with no disruption to patients, hospital functions or medical staff.

For this project HHCI supported VA Loma Linda in its efforts to provide top notch healthcare to the 67,000 Veterans it serves throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Accolades from the Department of the Army include: “This project was difficult in that it required a lot of coordination with the different users and the public to get work done. (HHCI’s) Superintendent was very cooperative in working to schedule the work around peak traffic hours and to accomplish quite a bit of the work during night hours and on weekends.”

HHCI is proud to support the improvement of healthcare facilities for our Veterans and their families. To date, HHCI has performed 42 renovation and modernization projects at facilities in the VA healthcare system.

HHCI Completes MCB Camp Pendleton Wastewater System Design

Riverside, CA – October 15, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) completed final design of the “Design Build Repair Taps 1, 2 and 3 Wastewater System” project at MCB Camp Pendleton, CA for the Department for the Navy. HHCI will now begin the project’s build phase and mobilize for construction operations.

The new design eliminated potential wastewater overflow spills at TAPS 1, 2, and 3 during emergency overflow events, by converting the existing secondary clarifiers into emergency wastewater overflow storage tanks. Additionally, the design prevents unauthorized discharges and ensures each system’s compliance with the Clean Water Act, Environmental Protection Agency’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) requirements.

HHCI’s Travis AFB Road Project Awarded STAR Award & Above Average Performance Rating

Riverside, CA – October 1, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) earned an above average project evaluation from the Department of the Navy for completion of the $5.8M “Construct Bypass Road Around Taxiway Mike” project at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA.

Additionally, HHCI was awarded a STAR (Safety Through Awards and Recognition) Award for outstanding safety performance throughout the duration of the project.

The project’s scope included: construction and relocation of a perimeter road with asphalt concrete pavement travel lanes and unpaved shoulders; reconstruction of pavement adjacent to the existing south gate facility; water line construction; drainage structures; site improvements; and fencing.

For this project, HHCI provided upgraded infrastructure to Travis Air Force Base and its air mobility teams. Accolades from the Resident Officer in Charge of Construction include: “(HHCI) finished the project ahead of schedule due to a proactive prosecution of the work.  They worked weekends to ensure the project was completed in a timely manner.”

Hal Hays Construction, Inc. Donates to the American Indian Chamber of Commerce Randy Twist Scholarship Fund

Riverside, CA – September 26, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) proudly contributed to the American Indian Chamber of Commerce Randy Twist Scholarship Fund. The fund, established in remembrance of the late Native American entrepreneur, Randy Twist, supports students of Native American decent in attaining higher education with scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $2,500.

Randy Twist was a founding member of the Northern California Chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce, served as the chapter coordinator and treasurer, and proudly supported Native American businesses and the community.

As a Native American-Owned business, HHCI is proud to honor Randy Twist’s memory and provide support to Native American youth seeking a higher education.

Riverside, CA – September 25, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) earned certification as a ServiceChannel Contractor to offer its clients a web-based system for seamless project integration and real time tracking. ServiceChannel provides an online contract management system covering all aspects of each individual project, including establishing connections with clients, tracking project progress, and managing pay.

HHCI first earned nomination to be a part of the new system and then passed multiple training modules to become a certified ServiceChannel Contractor.

Over 130 top industry leaders utilize ServiceChannel to connect with contractors, including organizations such as Wal-Mart, Neiman-Marcus, and Dicks Sporting Goods.

Riverside, CA – September 25, 2013 – For the fifth consecutive year, HHCI earned the Gold Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.’s (ABC) Southern California Chapter. The STEP award program provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop safety and loss prevention programs and provides a vital, objective method to measure safety program improvements. STEP award certificates are given in five categories: bronze, silver, gold, diamond, and platinum.  HHCI is an elite recipient, being one of only ten companies to receive a STEP award from the Chapter.

Hal Hays Construction, Inc. Awarded $1.5M Navy Design Build Schoeffel Field Project

Riverside, CA – September 16, 2013 – Hal Hays Construction Inc. (HHCI) earned award of the Design Build Schoeffel Field Project at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA for the US Navy. This $1.5 million project includes design and construction for an athletic grade artificial turf and irrigation system.

The 154,000 square foot multi-sport field provides softball, soccer, and football areas for NAWS China Lake. The overall project will include incorporation of Low Impact Development, improving the efficiency and sustainability of the existing field.
