HHCI Clears the Way for Eagle Canyon River Basin

Riverside, CA – January 14, 2014 – Work on HHCI’s $9.8M Eagle Canyon River Basin Project in Cathedral City can be heard across the region as work site explosions clear the way for the river basin.

flood controlHHCI’s excavation team is currently excavating solid rock to form the foundation for the river basin. Once excavated, the rock is compacted, processed, and broken into a finer material which will form the levee and function as a large surge tank for storm water.

HHCI Project Superintendent, Jerry Neuman commented, “Everyone we talk to, from city officials and residents to business owners, express their excitement for the project. We will be done with the excavation portion of the work soon and then comes the physical construction of the levee.”

Riverside County Flood Control commissioned the project after years of property damage due to bad weather. Once complete, the levee stands to save the city millions in water damage control. HHCI is excited to be a part of such as significant milestone for Cathedral City and the benefit to the community the basin will provide.
