Morongo Casino Parking Structure & Civil Expansion

The Morongo Casino Parking Structure & Civil Expansion included 8 Acres of site improvement work which encompassed the following scope of work: selective demolition; re-routing of utilities; temporary valet area; grading & compaction; retaining walls; asphalt and concrete.

To not interfere with the operations of the facility, HHCI separated the project into phases which consisted of the following:

New Valet Parking Garage Structure

  • Clear and grub the parking structure pad
  • Over excavate, build pad up 6 feet and place 6” of aggregate base and recompact
  • Aggregate base and vapor barrier below the slab-on-grade
  • Relocate site utilities as needed

Modify Porte Cochere & Main Entrance Area

  • Remove existing water feature, various lights, irrigation boxes and valves
  • Grade within the Porte Cochere for two additional lanes
  • Widen and repave roads
  • Install retaining wall
  • Remove and replace storm drain pipes, manholes, fire & water lines, and Sanitary Sewer system

Site Improvements

  • Demo existing roads
  • Eliminate and reconstruct Tumbleweed Drive
  • Earthwork
  • Install concrete curb, curb & gutter and sidewalk
  • Install concrete retaining walls at main entrance to the new parking structure
  • Install new aggregate base rock, asphalt and striping
  • Remove existing drainage structures and install new inlets, manholes and piping
  • Install sleeves for other utilities

West Detention Basin

  • Re-grade by building an 8’ tall berm on the south and east sides of Basin
  • Install new CMP outlet riser pipe and discharge pipe

Results

  • HHCI was able to complete this project within schedule
  • 100% accident-free operations
