Artist Drive Paving Project National Park Service, Death Valley National Park, CA $704,000
"The National Park Service and Hal Hays Construction had a good working relationship…The Artist Drive Paving project was a challenge for any contractor due to the narrow one-way road width through tight canyons. Hal Hays Construction took on this challenge and did an outstanding job. Negotiations of the contract bid were quickly resolved. Plans and schedules were submitted ahead of time. The management of their subcontractors by their project supervisor was outstanding. They were sensitive to the needs of the National Park Service by confining their work within the limits that the NPS had cleared through the environmental protection process. Their quality of work, meeting time schedules and providing the NPS with the best possible product. If given the opportunity again, I would not hesitate to award another contract to Hal Hays Construction Inc."
Ainsley Holeso, Road Supervisor, US Dept. of Interior National Park Service

NEX Complex Parking Design Build Naval Air Station, North Island, CA $473,440
"The NEX Complex Parking Reconfiguration as a Design Build project with a challenging schedule. Through partnering with the Government and the NEX, Hal Hays Construction was able to complete the project ahead of schedule despite varying conditions encountered in the field and delivered an Outstanding product. In particular, the flexibility and willingness to work with the government and PWC utilities to properly abandon a sewer lateral which was not properly abandoned by others. Since it was Hal Hays Construction's first NAVFAC project, I was impressed by their superintendent’s willingness to learn and timeliness in submission of daily reports…The government looks forward to partnering with Hal Hays Construction on future projects."
